"Brian McHenry loves to draw and can’t remember a time when he didn’t. Drawing to him is a way of thinking and he uses it as he tries to understand and express how he feels about the world around him and also what’s going on in his head at any particular moment.
He is interested and inspired by lots of things and although he will tell you that he’s not, (a result of listening to too much punk music in his youth) you mustn’t believe him. Most of these things will find their way into his work at sometime or another and provide what he likes to describe as ‘a unique insight into the mind of a small illustrator living in a seaside town in the north east corner of Ireland in the first half of the 21st Century’.
He enjoys living by the sea and on those rare times when he isn’t drawing, he likes to visit it.
When he does draw he likes to listen to lots of music which tends to be by people who wear
ill-fitting clothes and play guitars either very loudly or very quietly."
